How to set up variable bad words list?

Ok, I am trying to set up a variable bad words list so I don't have to update each campaign individually.  I read in another thread to use the %file% variable so I have tried every combination I can think of such as %file-c:\folder\badwords.txt% and placing quotes and/or <>s around everything but it only seems to read the first word in the file.  Any ideas on this?

You can just add %file-c:\folder\badwords.txt% as an item and it will read the file each time it checks for bad words.

Yeah that is what I am doing but for some reason it only checks the first word in the file.  So it will check "adult" and filter that word because it is the first line of the file, but none of the other words.  The badwords file is just a standard text file one term per line right?
