    To be honest, there are so many different metrics to use. 

    For me personally I look at

    Domain Authority
    Spam Score
    Referring Domains
    Outbound Links on the Page

    and then I make sure that there is a close niche relevancy. Truth be told, everyone does it differently .

    @purehustle post is a good place to start, especially looking at referring domains and outbound links. We know that both are important to how Google calculates page rank, and you're getting real numbers, not outputs from some third party model. The Moz / Majestic / Ahrefs / etc metrics can be useful, but you need to keep in mind that they're building in a lot of assumptions and can be very imprecise.
