How doese GSA verify links

I‘m a newbie to GSA, and have a question need your kind help.
How does GSA verify backlinks which show been submitted? When I set "When to verify - Automatically 1440 minutes", then GSA will load the pages it submitted successfully to check the link if exist after 24hours. If the backlinks exist, then the page URL be listed to Verified.
Now the question is, if some backlinks be allowed to exist by those webmaster after 48hours, then can GSA verify them?

    Depends on the engine. Some engines will check for a longer time before verification fails. The value you set here is the 1st try to verify.
