download failed error

I seem to be getting a lot of download failed errors (Return: -, Sockerror: Connection refused). I have 10 semi-dedicated proxies which have been tested and are all working. Is something wrong with my proxy settings?

    You have it set to use private and public proxies for scraping. Do you use private proxies or just public? If you're only using public, you can uncheck option "private" next to where it says "Search Engines" in that first image.

    Most likely the download failed is due to the nature of the public proxies. Otherwise, if you're wanting to use the private proxies for scraping, uncheck "public".

    I usually scrape my own lists rather than using GSA.

    I'm using an old list so maybe there's too many dead links. Would that give the same error?

    Yes, if you have a lot of dead links in your list, it can cause errors.
