Have You Heard Linking In The New Year 2015 News?

Apparently there are some key players in the industry who have been secretly talking about what google is doing in this new year regarding ranking.
Like linking is only a small factor, not as important anymore, in fact google ignores 90% of links placed out there, this is what they been saying so far, the sources of this so called leak, get their info from Matt Cutts and some other google employees, perhaps its just a scare tactic...

They went on to say, using programs like ours here and senuke is just not going to help you rank anymore... they are trying to get rid of spammers and blackhatters.  So if google is ignoring negative seo, and most backlinks, how is one to rank in 2015 if SER, or senuke, or whatever isnt going to work?

Unless the big G is only going to count how good your content is, how else will they determine who deserves to get on that first page?

Lost of things have been discussed, like google not going to announce updates anymore, it will just be automatic, they are going to remain hidden and not let the public know what the updates are going forward going this new year..

What are your thoughts on this madness?

  • Ok, so why don't you try it and see if it works? Or will you just listen to what other people say and not do anything? If you have no backbone get out of SEO game ;)
  • seo is still the same like 3-5yrs ago,the only difference is you need to  make sure you create a good user engaging site (have good quality content)so that when it hits first page,(it doesnt matter how u will get there, whether through black hat, white hat, grey hat),if u create a good site,it will stay top longer.
  • @Don   what are you talking about maybe i should try it first? The point i was making is google has new things in store that many arent yet aware of for the new year, and that the big G is not counting 90% of the backlinks you create, Very funny about your backbone getting out of the seo game comment, HAHA! dude i been in it probably longer then you, watch what you say, dont just run your mouth like a bitch at me, im not a softie at all.

  • @young_gooner    Good point, but things are making a big change this year, what worked back then wont work now.
  • @justdoit trust me,its working.

@justdoit My point is don't trust what anyone says. How do you know if what you read is true? If you test things yourself, however, you can see if it works. Sorry you take my comment the wrong way. It's wasn't aimed at you personally but your reaction made me ROFL ;)
  • @Don  It's all good mate, actions and reactions are what make the world go bumpy round..  :))
  • I hear about this concept about once a year. I think by now if they knew a better way to rank content over links, they would of done it by now. I'm afraid they are stuck with links. :D Good for us.
  • @jamesross  always good for us >:)

    Links are still doing it.
  • Who are these so called key players?

    WSO sellers? :D
  • iwebseoiwebseo The Internets
Backlinsk will still count unless Google switch from search engine to web directory.
  • Content is King. Scrapers suck. Get original with your content creation and you will beat the search engines. SER is just a tool. Don't copy everyone else.
  • Content is NOT king, not by a long shot, stop with the myth's already
  • Content is king!

I am not as experienced as many on this forum. But the financial markets are rife with people predicting the inevitable collapse of the world markets. These people only have to be correct once and they are made for the rest of their careers. So every couple of months they will predict some large change. If they are correct they look great if they are wrong, nobody cares and they loose nothing. We have all heard about the patents but second guessing the internal workings of google is nigh on impossible.

That's not forgetting that Bing is (slightly) more important as of recent. And the ever increasing relevance of FB.  Those with more experience than I, can point to a whole litany respected industry specialists predicting the change of the SEO landscape and yet...

And the other thing that occurs (to me) is that due to the size of google and it's place in everyday life, a seizmic change in the way the serps are calculated is almost impossible. A far more likely scenario would be a glacial like change from one algo to another. The pace would have to be slow enough that the average user would notice very little. In which case those in the seo industry would probably change tactics at a similar pace and not be particularly aware of the large shift.

ramble over : short version : the rug is going nowhere fast.

PaulieP . I'll take my empirical data on over 500 test sites and 11 years experience of SEO over your baseless myth busting.
  • Yep, linking in 2015 looks like this --> https://forum.gsa-online.de/discussion/comment/108503/#Comment_108503 using SER. Go to work.

  • depends on how you do your seo. building stand alone private blogs, no footprints, etc with unique content is absolutely bullet proof and always will be. spamming blog links is a waste of money and resources.  GSA is a tool, great for those who use it properly, and dangerous for those who don't.It is only one of many tools you should be using in your seo efforts. good luck

sweeppicker  Well i have about 1200 local niche sites with 90% duplicated content (most on .info domains registered in the registerfly days) and they are daily pulling leads in, and i am doing SEo since 2003 you really wanna compare SEO cocks with proof?

    I am game, are you?

PaulieP. No, I m not sharing my private data with you. Local niche sites don't impress me. You can get away with a lot more for less competitive search terms. The markets I deal with have upwards of a million searches a month. I've used every type of content and link generation there is. Duplicate content will never be given the same value by the search engines as targetted unique content.
